What does it take to own a Market Smart™ agency? We are looking for passionate professionals, preferably those who have creative agency, journalism, or business experience, as well as strong drive to succeed and an established network of business contacts. We work closely with members throughout the startup process to ensure their lifelong success with the brand.

The license fee for a Market Smart™ membership is $45,000. Royalty fees for members are 5.5% of gross sales per month, with an annual minimum of $6,000.

The term of a Market Smart™ membership is five years with a five-year renewal option. It typically takes three to six months to get a Market Smart™ agency up and running.

Members also do not need to use the Market Smart™ name in their branding, and have the freedom to operate out of home if they wish. While a stand-alone office space is ideal, it is not required. If an office space is desired in the future, our commercial real estate sister company can help select sites and negotiate leases/purchase contracts for our members’ benefit.

What is the process to open a Market Smart agency?

Market Smart™ is a business built on relationships, and we value ours with you from day one. At Market Smart™ we are excited about bringing new members to our operating family, but we need to ensure this is a good fit for you as well as for us. We work with you every step of the way to ensure that your Market Smart™ agency will be a success.

> Step 1: Request Information

Brief discussion with a member from our team and information sent.

> Step 2: Informal Phone Interview

A member of our Sales and Development team will call you to discuss your background and answer any questions you may have.

> Step 3: MDD Receipt and Review

If it’s determined that you are a good potential fit for the Market Smart™ membership family, you will receive the Membership Disclosure Document. This document contains all the necessary information about your future Market Smart™ membership so you can make a more informed decision.

> Step 4: Initial Virtual Meeting

Following these initial steps, a live initial meeting via Zoom is scheduled with the membership development team to further discuss the opportunity in your territory and requirements needed to open a Market Smart™ agency.

> Step 5: In Person Member Discovery Meeting

In this stage you’ll be invited to a Member Discovery Meeting at our headquarters via zoom or in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. We want to ensure that we start our relationship on the right foot on your first day. You will meet our Market Smart™ founders and key training staff.

> Step 6: Signing Your Market Smart™ Member Agreement

Congratulations, after signing your member agreement you’re officially part of the Market Smart™ family! We have strategic steps in place to ensure that the opening of your Market Smart™ agency goes as smoothly as possible from the time you sign on to the time you sign your very first client.

> Step 7: E-Learning Begins

We offer a full suite of electronic training services to our members to assist you every step of the way. You will also be introduced to the business and operations training programs, client recruitment, marketing, PR support and other opportunities to help you reach your sales goals.
